01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Rich miso broth, springy medium-thick noodles and the fragrant bite of bean sprouts come together in Misokko Hook’s miso ramen. It is the kind of bowl that invites you to alternate between noodles and toppings with every mouthful. Diners have described the miso flavour as deep yet mellow, with a broth that is easy to drink, suggesting a balance beyond richness alone. Dip the noodles into the soup, then break up each mouthful with the crisp texture of stir-fried bean sprouts for a little variety in every spoonful.

For a fuller taste of the chashu, you can choose a bowl with extra slices. One diner remarked on the thick-cut chashu, enjoyed alongside the rich broth and noodles. Adding a seasoned egg is another way to build up the toppings, and spicy miso ramen is also available. Noodle portions range from half to extra large, making it easy to choose a lighter serving or a more substantial bowl.

Chashu rice is available as a side. One diner who ordered it with ramen felt the small size would be a good choice, as it made for a filling meal. Choose it to add a little more to your meal, or let the rice bowl take centre stage.

Dine-in seating includes counter seats. Some guidance suggests that waits can be on the long side, so allow plenty of time when visiting.
